In this month’s employee spotlight, we chat with Seanna Arana, who works in the Safety department at Elm.

Q: How long have you been working at Elm?

A: I have been working at Elm for about eight months.

Q: What brought you to Elm/how did you get your start here?

A: I worked as an ironworker in local 15 for about nine years and had been leaning into the safety aspect of construction. I put my feelers out and started to apply for safety officer jobs when I landed a great interview with Elm Electrical.

Q: Can you tell us a little about your role at Elm?

A: I do a little bit of everything, but mostly inspections on jobs where I get to be on site with our field workers, make sure safety standards are met/followed and most importantly putting safety first so all our employees go home safely at the end of the day. I also have a big hand in trainings, organizing training and filing all information in our computer systems.

Q: What are some of the things you enjoy most about working at Elm?

A: I enjoy working with my safety team the most. We all work very well together and all have the same goal and that’s to make sure everyone goes home safely. The people at Elm have been amazing to me since day one and I truly enjoy still being out in the field with the guys and girls who bring these jobs to completion.

Q: What has been one of your most rewarding experiences at Elm?

A: Continuing to learn more is my most rewarding experience so far and it’s just the beginning!

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not working?

A: When I’m not working, I love spending time with my daughter. I also play in a professional Cornhole league and I love taking hikes with my two pitbulls.

Q: Do you have a particular hobby or talent that co-workers may not know about?

A: I am a Moose rider and do a lot of charity/ benefit rides to raise money. I also organize fundraisers at the Moose lodge for Senior scholarships and Suicide prevention.

I also LOVE to cook!
