‘Elm Gives Back’ volunteer opportunities coming soon; April work anniversaries and more

Whip City Animal Sanctuary, located at 232 Montgomery Road in Westfield, is looking for a little help! If you have some basic carpentry skills and a few free hours on a Saturday, we could use your assistance in fixing up one of their barns. We’d like to build a list of volunteers and then choose a date that works best for that group (and the animals)! Reach out to Holly at hlurgio@elmelec.com to get your name on the list.

And in the meantime, stop by on a Saturday morning or check out their website and get to know their residents!  https://www.whipcityanimalsanctuary.com/

In remembrance of Memorial Day, area cemeteries will be holding flagging ceremonies to honor those who have lost their lives in service of this country. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and needed! To be a part of this important ritual, choose from one of the cemeteries below and just show up! No signups needed! If you have questions, reach out to hlurgio@elmelec.com

  • Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 390 Main Street, Agawam, MA. Wednesday, May 24 – weather dependent. Call Monday or Tuesday to confirm. 413-821-9500; Arrive between 8-8:30 a.m.

The organizer would like confirmation on the number of volunteers he can expect.

Elm Futures Program

Elm plans to host THREE sessions of the Futures program this summer. Prospective co-op students are invited to join Elm educators in a free, 4-day training seminar to learn new skills, as well as showcase their own talents. We will be reaching out to students in the upcoming weeks, so if you know of anyone who may be interested in this program, reach out to Holly hlurgio@elmelec.com.

Congratulations to the following employees who are celebrating a work anniversary in April!
