Elm will continue its unwavering commitment to the SAFETY of our employees, our clients, and the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have committed to following the CDC recommendations and have asked our employees to abide by those and our internal procedures. We are cancelling all non-critical travel, eliminating meetings and in-person training, sales calls, and trips. We are encouraging and supporting our employees who need be away from work for health reasons to do that, and adapting our policies to eliminate barriers that might discourage staying home.
We have empowered our business unit leaders to adapt new work procedures to meet the needs of our clients in ways that protect against the spread of the virus. We are assessing workers, including subcontractors, daily on our project sites and facilities. Workers who may not feel well or present other potential risks will be sent home. Field-based technical employees are being supported in ways that do not require visiting our offices. Teleconferencing and web meetings is replacing in-person contact whenever possible. The vast majority of our work is done outside our facilities and we will be able to adapt our processes to maintain the service levels and product quality you have come to expect from us.
Elm is limiting and screening outside visitors and salespeople in our facilities and project sites until further notice. Our own sales team will also discontinue in-person customer visits. If an in-person meeting is necessary, it will require a preapproved appointment that can be coordinated through an Elm contact.
We will accommodate any customer request to delay noncritical service, repair, or installation work, and as always, we will maintain our 24/7 emergency support to service our clients throughout the crisis.
Elm Electrical, Inc., has been in business for nearly 50 years and our conservative operating values will enable us to support our clients, employees, and community during and after this pandemic. We are prepared for what we expect will be a months-long period of adaptation and adjustment to our business operations to help protect everyone from this virus and preserve our business and our society.
