“It’s a company that understands the individual needs of each employee and it puts people first,” he said. “The culture at Elm is that everybody does whatever they can. We have a saying, ‘If not you than who?’ So, we all step up to the challenge and help one another out and do things. It’s an exciting place to work. Being here is like being part of a larger family; not really a business, which I think is great. We have a lot of long-tenured employees. We’re continually educating people. We’re always investing in the business and investing in the operational side of the business, as well as investing in the individuals by creating things like Elm University, which I think is an outstanding testimony of the company investing in its people. I think that just sets up a great culture for the company and the individuals that work here. It’s a family.”

Outside of Elm, Mike spends a lot of time with his family and has plenty of hobbies to take part in. “I play a lot of golf, I ride my mountain bike, I ride my road bike, we have a wakeboarding boat, so we spend a lot of our time during the summers on the Connecticut River wake surfing,” he said. “Then, in the winters, my wife and I love to ski, so we’re off skiing somewhere pretty much every weekend.”
