We are currently seeking a full-time Panel Builder based out of our Westfield, MA location.

Job Description:

The Panel Builder assembles and wires electrical panels and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and fabricate industrial control panels and electrical control boxes/enclosures
  • Perform operational testing from written procedures and specifications
  • Complete light fabrication
  • Complete and maintain project documentation
  • Proficiently operate a variety of hand and power tools including, but not limited to, a soldering iron, jigsaw, K/O punch, and electrical multimeter

Qualifications:

  • Read and interpret electrical and/or mechanical schematics
  • Follow written and verbal instruction
  • Utilize and interpret wiring diagrams
  • Recognize components

Safety Manager

We are currently seeking a full-time Safety Manager.

Overall Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Lead on the Safety & Health Manual and practices to remain current with OSHA/MSHA and ANSI standards.
  • Lead on cultural change of the Safety department perception in coordination with Elm leadership
  • Structure the Safety & Health department network files and folders, increase accessibility to committee
  • Health officer responsibilities when applicable
  • Lead on updating the Hazard Communication Policy (HazCom)
  • Learn the management of ISN, Avetta, and Construct Secure and execute accordingly
  • Establish Safety professionals network and coordinate company 3rd party trainings
  • Learn and manage Pure Safety
  • Conduct safety program audits and work with the safety committee to update programs, as necessary.
  • Support, promote, and maintain the strong company safety culture that has been established.
  • Engage employees in safe behaviors and work practices.
  • Assist project managers and supervisors with work planning and development of job hazard analysis, safe-work procedures, and site specific safety plans
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations and analyze near-misses, performing root-cause analysis to determine next steps to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Assist managers to create, coordinate, and facilitate trainings including company safety trainings; monthly department meetings; new-hire safety orientations; general safety awareness trainings; and other safety specific trainings.
  • Perform additional assignments, as required by company needs.

Education and/or Experience (negotiable, willing to train to achieve):

  • BS or MS in Safety Professional field of study or equivalent experience
  • Safety and Health Specialist (SHS) for construction certification
  • Certified Safety Professional
  • Supervisory skills demonstrating an ability to lead and support
  • Knowledge of construction safety and health regulations, including OSHA construction and DOT
  • OSHA30 for construction certified

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multitask
  • Ability to adjust work hours, when required
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Familiarity with Project Management methodology would be beneficial

Computer Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills required. Ability to work with Microsoft Office and related computer applications.

Electrical Controls Engineer

We are currently seeking a full-time Electrical Controls Engineer based out of our Westfield, MA location.

Job Description:

The Electrical Controls Engineer works with the Automation team to develop custom automation solutions for a wide array of end-user applications. The Electrical Controls Engineer researches, develops, designs, programs, and tests control systems, components, and equipment to assure customer needs are met and all end results will be code-compliant.

Responsibilities:

  • Design automation control equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
  • Design and direct the fabrication of text control apparatus and equipment
  • Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products
  • Manage the budgeted performance goals on all project activities
  • Direct project activities to assure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conforms to functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Develop application of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial use
  • Direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software
  • Assure the safety of all employees, coworkers, and non-Elm employees on- and off-site
  • Support, promote, and maintain strong company safety culture

  • Ability to develop and follow electrical one-line diagrams and schematics for detailing electrical control systems
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Competent mathematical skills
  • Troubleshooting skills applicable to existing electrical control systems comprised of motors, drives, PLCs, human machine interface, motor starters, relays, and other various controls deployed in a manufacturing setting
  • Willingness to learn and utilize AutoCad Electrical
  • Ability to program/service industrial control hardware utilizing the following software packages commercial PLC, Programmable Operator Interfaces, HMI software packages, and a robot programming software:
    • Allen Bradley SLC, MicroLogix, Companct Logix, and ControlLogix PLC platforms
    • Allen Bradley PanelView and PanelView Plus platforms
    • RSLogix 500, 5000, and Rockwell Automation Factory Talk suite
