We are currently seeking MA-licensed Journeyman Electricians for Eastern Massachusetts to be based out of our Marlborough, MA branch. We encourage Industrial, Manufacturing, and Commercially skilled electricians to apply. Water, wastewater, paper pulp, food & beverage project experience a plus. Job Description
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit and associated wiring
- Connect wiring to fixtures and power equipment
- Connect power cables to equipment, such as motors, distribution equipment, and equipment
- Install electrical systems per the current version of the National and Massachusetts Electrical Code
- Perform transformer, feeder, electrical raceway system, and electrical apparatus installations
- Follow all safe practices for installations as required by OSHA and NFPA
- Implement basic troubleshooting techniques
- Possess a basic understanding of industrial equipment, controls, and circuits
- Utilize safe workplace practices
- Experience with manufacturing and production facilities is an asset, as is knowledge of low-voltage and communication system installations

Electrical Controls Engineer
We are currently seeking a full-time Electrical Controls Engineer based out of our Westfield, MA location.
Job Description:
The Electrical Controls Engineer works with the Automation team to develop custom automation solutions for a wide array of end-user applications. The Electrical Controls Engineer researches, develops, designs, programs, and tests control systems, components, and equipment to assure customer needs are met and all end results will be code-compliant.
Responsibilities:
- Design automation control equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
- Design and direct the fabrication of text control apparatus and equipment
- Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products
- Manage the budgeted performance goals on all project activities
- Direct project activities to assure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conforms to functional specifications and customer requirements
- Develop application of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial use
- Direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations
- Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software
- Assure the safety of all employees, coworkers, and non-Elm employees on- and off-site
- Support, promote, and maintain strong company safety culture
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and code/standards compliance
- Understand and maintain expected scope of work and intent on all projects
- Support and further morale of all employees
- Maintain a professional work standard
- Assist with tool and other operations, as needed
- Contemplate and plan all operations for maximum efficiency in conjunction with all involved from conception to completion of project
- Attend management and company meetings to assure excellent communication among the team and within the company
- Assure accurate and timely reporting of time and materials on all jobs
- Perform additional assignments, as required by company needs.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in developing/designing/installing electrical control systems
- FANUC robotic programming knowledge with handling tool, pick tool, pallet tool, and overall robot controller and programming techniques
- Ability to develop and follow electrical one-line diagrams and schematics for detailing electrical control systems
- Strong communications skills both written and verbal
- Competent mathematical skills
- Troubleshooting skills applicable to existing electrical control systems comprised of motors, drives, PLCs, human machine interface, motor starters, relays, and other various controls deployed in a manufacturing setting
- Willingness to learn and utilize AutoCad Electrical
- Ability to program/service industrial control hardware utilizing the following software packages commercial PLC, Programmable Operator Interfaces, HMI software packages, and a robot programming software:
- Allen Bradley SLC, MicroLogix, Companct Logix, and ControlLogix PLC platforms
- Allen Bradley PanelView and PanelView Plus platforms
- RSLogix 500, 5000, and Rockwell Automation Factory Talk suite
- FANUC Robotics software programming and integration of robotic arms
- Pay commensurate upon experience and qualifications
